The Brief
Champion Pet Food's plans included a state-of-the-art pet food manufacturing and distribution centre. The project scope assigned to our teams included fabricating and erecting 4000 tons of steel supports for the food-grade manufacturing facility.
Simultaneous design and build
The Champion Pet Foods project was completed on a fast-track model. Our teams were put to the test, working from marginal drawings at the outset. Many changes were expected as the project advanced, and we were ready to meet those changes and adapt accordingly. Because the design and development phases happened simultaneously, we needed to be able to react efficiently.
In-House team success
Our in-house engineering and drafting teams were able to work closely with the client's rapidly changing needs. This adaptability allowed us to successfully complete this project to the desired standard and on schedule, despite the substantial changes and scope additions that arose on a last-minute basis. Overall, the project was one that challenged us, but our passion for solving complex construction problems made the Champion Pet Foods project a great fit from the start.
